QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in community relations preferably within the mining and/or extractive industry
  • Bachelor Degree in Social Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Business Administration, Engineering or related field
  • Current valid drivers’ license
  • Completed military service, or in possession of an exemption for military service.
  • Local community relations and sustainability experience
  • Turkish speaker but reasonable competence in English both oral  and written
  • Strong computer skills, Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Well organized
  • Self-starter, who is able to work independently and use his / her initiative

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Report to and work under the direction of the Environmental and Social Manager.
  • Respond to day-to-day issues related to local communities in accordance to Company policies and International Standards.
  • Provide feedback regarding local community matters and follow-up on grievances.
  • Coordinate arrangements for all visitors to Oksut site.
  • Maintaining trust and positive relations with communities.
  • Ensure regular visits to the project impacted communities.
  • Ensure transparent information flow between the company and the local communities within the framework of the company’s procedures and work plans in accordance with national and international standards;
  • Provide community feedback to the E&S Manager and ensure the implementation of proactive and effective engagement strategies.
  • Ensure implementation of the company grievance procedure, logging the grievances, working with the company’s related departments to address the grievances, and ensure the grievance is mitigated to the satisfaction of the complainant. 
  • Support the E&S Manager in arranging regular information sessions for the stakeholders related to the company’s activities;
  • Provide in a timely manner information to the company regarding the expectations and the specificity of the local sources to develop local procurement,  employment, and localization strategies;
  • Analyze the needs of the communities and give feedback to the E&S Manager to develop and implement appropriate and sustainable social development projects within the defined company policies and protocols;
  • Prepare appropriate documentation regarding community relations activities, including requests, complaints, and feedback, meetings held, and social development projects implemented etc.
  • Report on the progress of current community projects and issues on a monthly basis, and more frequently for critical issues.

Minimum Level of education: Bachelor’s (Graduate)
